FPL Game Week 8 Essential Player Picks

 1. Bryan Mbuemo

Brentford's new talisman, Bryan Mbuemo, has been on great form this season after the departure of Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window. The 25 year old has 6 goals in 7 games for the Bees in the league this season, with only Haaland having scored more. Mbuemo is the most transferred in player this week, bringing him up to 27% ownership amongst players, and with good reason. Away to an uninspiring Manchester United this week, and with Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth and Fulham up next in the fixture calendar, Mbuemo is a great long-term pick.

2. Brennan Johnson

Scoring again over the international break, Brennan Johnson made it 7 consecutive games on the scoresheet. Coming in at £6.5m, and being transferred in by 242,000 managers, the Welsh international is a solid pick until Spurs play Manchester City in game-week 12.
Although only playing 90 minutes twice this season, averaging 74 minutes a game in the 24/25 season, Johnson has proved himself to be a significant goal threat in Postecoglou's high intensity, counter attacking side. His electric pace and newfound eye for goal make him a fantastic option, and one I would value over the likes of his teammates Maddison and Kulusevski.

3. Erling Haaland

Despite City's number 9 going two full league games without a return, and over 50,000 players selling the Norwegian, Erling Haaland should be a nailed on starter and captain for most teams. Haaland is the leagues top scorer having netted 10 in 7 and is joint with Chelsea's Cole Palmer with the most points in the game at 67.
City head to bottom of the table Wolves, who have conceded the most goals in the league this season. This, and their next game at home to newly promoted Southampton make Haaland an essential FPL asset and those who do not have him will miss out on near guaranteed points.
