Haaland Alternatives - Is it Time to Sell?
Haaland: Keep or Sell?
After another blank from Haaland and Pep suffering his third consecutive loss for the first time since taking charge of the club, Manchester City are not looking like the record breakers of last season.
Although only producing 1 return in 5 games, Haaland is still the projected top scorer for this game-week as they face an eccentric Brighton side - a team unlikely to sit back which could leave spaces in behind for the Norwegian to exploit. Additionally, he is top in the league for non-penalty expected goal involvements over the last 5 game-weeks with 4.14, more than doubling Salah's.
If you don't have the transfers to get another premium like Salah in your team then I would hold on to Haaland as this dip in form is certainly temporary. With De Bruyne making his return from injury in the Champions League this week too, it is only a matter of time before he finds his feet.
Haaland Replacements
If your heart is set on getting rid of Haaland, these are the potential routes I would take.
Salah
Salah is the obvious transfer. He
is the top scorer in the game currently and costs £2.5m less than Haaland which could free up valuable funds to be distributed more evenly around your squad. Downgrading Haaland to a Wolves asset is a popular move this week due to their good attacking form and favourable fixtures. Cunha and Strand Larsen are the stand out players in the side, although I would lean towards Cunha if you have the funds available.
Isak
Alexander Isak is another possibility although he is more expensive than the Wolves assets. Since returning from injury he has scored 3 goals on the bounce and has West Ham home, Leicester home, and Ipswich away on the horizon. If the Salah route does not appeal to you, then Isak is player to seriously consider.
I want to sell him, but I just know as soon as I do he will go on a hat trick streak!!!!
ReplyDeleteI understand your frustration but hold tight he'll come good soon!
